Dr. Norman A. Davis is a retired clinical psychologist who has written poetry since the age of 21. Norm was born in Illinois. His love of language has resulted in learning Spanish, French and he is currently acquiring fluency in German.
His writing style is largely freeform although he uses other structured formats. Dr. Davis won first place for writing a poem (his very first) at the Butterworth Center for the Arts in Moline, Illinois. The poem was entitled: “A Thing the Lady Knows”.
He has also appeared in several writing publications. More recently, Norman has been a finalist for two consecutive years in the Brevard County Penwomen Writers’ Club.
He is currently submitting his works to a variety of poetry magazines. Norman has been published every year he has participated in the Driftwood Anthology, a publication of Scribblers. He has further co-authored a short story with David Clark, Nancy Clark, and Maria Lebron entitled “Watery Retribution”.
Dr. Davis has published a self-help book entitled “Keeping the Elephants Away”. It addresses anxiety and the family of anxiety disorders and provides clinical examples and a workbook to monitor anxiety symptoms and treatment progress at the back of the book.
Norman Davis has been on the Scribblers’ board in the capacity of Vice President for three years.
